Buy ticketsWe have had more than enough problems with visitors taking photographs. The pursuit of the perfect picture to post on social media reached an extreme, and so photography is now prohibited in the Ossuary. Thank you for your understanding and for respecting this rule.
The average visit takes about 15 minutes, but some people enjoy themselves here for as long as an hour.
Pick up our leaflet which will guide you through the Ossuary.
Rent an audio-guide which will describe the Ossuary’s features and history.
Book a tour guide. Our guides are excellent and know all there is to know about the Ossuary.
Please wear clothes that show respect for the sacred character of this place. Keep in mind that you will be entering a tomb and an active church.
A bit of restraint never hurt anyone. Due to the sacred character of this Cemetery Church, food and beverages are prohibited in the Ossuary. Visitors under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to enter into this historical monument. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the Ossuary and in the Cemetery. Please leave your pets at home. Bringing a dog to an ossuary is simply not the thing to do here. We ask that you do not touch anything, please. Thank you. The bones are the fragile remains of thousands of our ancestors. All of the bones are authentic. Please keep quiet during your visit – you are entering a tomb.
To protect the skulls and bones in the Lower Chapel, large bags and motorcycle helmets are prohibited. Please leave all large luggage items in the storage boxes in the Information Centre. Prams are permitted, but you will need to carry your pram into the Lower Chapel yourself.
We allow groups of up to 60 visitors. Due to the limited capacity of the Ossuary, groups of more than 60 must be split into smaller groups before entering. Please contact us in advance to book a large group visit.
Although it is not currently compulsory, we still recommend: The world has changed and we would like to protect you as well as ourselves. Please bring a respirator and wear it properly during your entire visit (covering nose and mouth). Please clean your hands with the sanitizer provided at the Ossuary entrance and keep a safe distance from other visitors. You just never know…
The Lower Chapel is wheelchair-accessible. There is an access ramp on the steps outside and a platform lift on the stairwell inside. The Upper Chapel is not wheelchair-accessible.
